The Project Steering Committee

Representatives, duties

The Project Steering Committee with representation from all relevant line ministries will provide overall oversight to the Project’s activities.

The key functional tasks under the responsibility of the PSC will be:

To provide appropriate support and ensure sectoral coordination for effective implementation of the SLPII;
to review and approve the PIMs for the SLPII;
to approve annual fund allocations.

In addition, the following key operating procedures and guidelines have been proposed:

The PSC will meet at least twice per calendar year, with one of the meetings coinciding with the joint supervision mission of the WB/EC.
Reporting to the PSC on the progress of SLPII implementation will be the responsibility of the chairperson of the Working Group/Board for each project component.
A representative of the PSC will join at least one field visit per year, preferably during the supervision mission of the WB/EC.

It is proposed that the PSC comprise at least the following:
